Mar. 16- 13th International Multicultural & Multilingual Poetry Reading and Poster Poem Exhibition
The 13th International Multicultural & Multilingual Poetry Reading and Poster Poem Exhibition will be held on Saturday, Mar. 16, from 2-4 pm at the Gallery Connexion, 440 York St., Fredericton, NB. This event is held in conjunction with the United Nation’s “Dialogue Among Civilizations Through Poetry” Project, World Poetry Day (March 21), Mother Language Day (21 February) and is organized to foster tolerance, respect and cooperation among peoples.The theme for 2013 is "Let's Celebrate Peace: Tradition, Paths, Serenity". This event is organized by Nela Rio, the Founder of the event, with the support of the Creative Registry of the Canadian Association of Hispanists; NB Latino Association -PRESENCIA-; and the Fredericton Chapter of the Ibero-American Academy of Poetry. Poems will be read in all languages. Please join us for this free event, whether it be to listen, read, or reflect on the beautiful poems submitted.
Sophie has prepared this announcement for the cultural event as well as this poster. She is also a member of the Fredericton Chapter of the Ibero-American Academy of Poetry.

El padre de la primera píldora anticonceptiva, el químico austríaco Carl Djerassi, sube jovial a sus 85 años las escaleras de un hotel de Vigo, ayudado de un bastón. A three-judge panel convicted him for ordering a military death squad to carry out two massacres that killed 25 people during his 1990-2000 rule, when he was battling guerrillas. Nearly 70,000 people died in two decades of conflict in the Andean country. Fujimori once enjoyed overwhelming popularity for taming economic chaos and defeating the Maoist insurgency known as the Shining Path, but a corruption scandal sank his government in 2000 and he fled to exile in Japan.
