New exhibition, Turner Monet Twombly: Later Paintings. Opening at Tate Liverpool on 22 June, it brings together over 60 masterpieces from three of the greatest modern painters, highlighting similarities in interests and styles during their later years.
Presenting works from across three centuries reveals how relevant Turner (1775 – 1851), and Monet (1840 – 1926) are to contemporary art, as well as highlighting the classicism present in the work of Twombly (1928 – 2011). More importantly it shows that some subjects have a universal and timeless appeal, for artists as well as viewers.
