I just read Jeremy's article,The Guardian,Nov 18, and some of the comments written about it. Most of them broke my heart.
Unfortunately, the space for commenting the article is now closed.

As a woman, I have not nation.
As a housewife, I have not voice.
As an older woman, I have not good health.
As a Latino, I have not proper English.
But as one of the academics interviewed by Jeremy Seabrook for his CARA's book,
and as a former CARA grantee(1979-1982), I really enjoyed the experience of been visited at home, in Essex, by him, and to be listened and understood so well.
Nearly a miracle!
And as a former UN refugee in the UK(1981-1989), from the dictatorships of Pinochet(Chile)and Videla (Argentina),I am more than grateful to the many people and institutions of this host country who supported my work from 1976 on, smoothing in different ways the many pains of the torture of being in exile.
As a mother, I am also proud of both of my childrem, Yanina and Tomás Hinrichsen Zabaleta, for their own generous contribution to this society of all of us.
And for the book: I have a dream: reading it, possible we will have soon many more citizens of the world, of the kind of the authors Jeremy Seabrook and Jon Snow are. The sort of people who count.
As a person, though,in huge contrast with most of the other commentators of the article, I have a name.(please see below)
Let's live in hope, then: the tasks ahead are very huge.

Muy distinguida Maestra:
No puedo restarme a tan importante momento, que sé que para UD. es parte de su vida,y es por ello que me he dado tiempo para conversar con UD. y expresarle mis sentimientos de alegría por este gran logro.
Gracias por su invitación para asistir a este instante que es de
importancia para UD. pero me es imposible viajar por motivos muy
ajenos a mi voluntad, cómo son los recursos, pues se trata de otro
país, creo que UD. me lo entiende. Pero mi presencia espiritual estará
a la hora y día señalado.
El traducir en palabras lo que UD. escribe y que sé que es consecuente con sus principios la hace ser más admirable cómo Maestra
de parte de sus alumnos(as),unos tantos con títulos trabajando, otros sólo egresados por un quiebre Político, social en Chile que terminó con muchos muertos,desaparecidos,torturados,exiliados fuera del país y que aún no regresan por distintos motivos que no es de análisis aquí.
Hoy, Maestra no puedo dejar de compartir con UD. esa inmensa
satisfacción de persona de estar siempre trabajando para un pueblo que aún no puede tomar los rumbos de una verdadera equidad e igualdad
social, porque en un mundo que llaman globalizado ha primado el
personalismo, partidismo u otro, que lo hace desembocar en un
descontento y acontecer social abismante.
Maestra son muchas las palabras que quisiera ordenar en ideas para
decir lo mejor, se agolpan en mi cabeza y no van de acorde con mis
dedos que se deslizan frente al computador, es por ello que hoy es
reducido lo que pueda hablarle ,pero UD, sabe que son tantas los temas que debo comentarlos, pero hoy,justamente hoy en su lanzamiento, les deseo el mayor de los éxitos y al terminar la ceremonia al firmar cada
libro y entre los abrazos de muchos, entre todos ellos ahí está el de una exalumna de la Universidad de Concepción y desde las galaxias el otro de su alumno e hijo Nelson.
