 About the author
Culturally diverse author, fluent in Spanish, English and Hebrew, born in Santiago, Chile in 1967.

In 1973 Chile went through a violent coup d'state, and my father, David Silberman, was imprisoned and later on murdered by the secret police agents thus becoming a "desaparecido" until today.

At the age of 10, after losing hope of ever finding my father, our family emigrated to Israel due to the continous political persecution we suffered in Chile on a daily basis.

Writing has always been my escape, pondering on human nature and searching for a saner, more righteous world.

I hold a B.A. in Journalism but I worked in the profession for only a short period of time, as I became extremely dissapointed to find out what really puts in motion the wheels of the commercial press.

In 1996 I relocated to Boston, Mass. with my then wife and newborn son, where I worked as a financial advisor.

In 2000, I published my first novel, "Hamorad" (Hebrew for Downhill), a semi-autobiographical existential novel.

I moved back to Israel In 2008 with my family and shortly after, published "Three Monkey Brothers", my first children's book, both in English and Hebrew.

In 2015 "Chicken or Fish?" a short story I authored won the first prize in the annual B'nai B'rith Chile writing competition.

My third book - The Dead Hand, short tales of a long dictatorship - was published in 2020 in Hebrew and English, the latter is available on Amazon.
Currently, I'm searching for a theatre to produce a play I wrote, based on one of the chapters of "the dead hand".

During my entire career, both in Israel and the U.S, I have always worked and volunteered with children, in the media, and in the fields of education and literacy.
